Post-Jam Changelog


Hey there! One of our commentors (@pat-cleaver!) over on the Ludum Dare site suggested adding a changelog to document the differences between our 'JAM' and 'POSTJAM' versions of the game. We thought this was a great idea, so here we are! Without further ado, here are the additions and changes between the two versions. The changes are mostly visual, with a few minor sfx and gameplay additions as well.

(Note: For the sake of fairness, we'd recommend playing the JAM version of the game when judging over on the Ludum Dare site. As the name suggests, the POSTJAM version of the game was put together after the jam period ended. Also, refrain from reading if you wanna avoid spoilers!)

Visuals

  • A snazzy new logo has been added to the main menu
  • Barbara's portraits in the visual novel section are now animated to blink, matching the others
  • Some of Sullivan's portraits have been swapped around during the racing section
  • The Cooking Papa section's layout has been revamped, featuring a new oven and countertop sprite
  • Cooking Papa himself now appears properly
  • The cake now winks for a little longer. You deserve it.
  • Shiny new gun, bullet casing, and crosshair sprites have been added to the shoot-em-up section
    • Rocky's gun has been de-pixelated to match with other sections of the game
  • The final boss is also sporting some new sprites
    • Shards of the artifact now orbit around him as well, displaying his sheer power
  • The game has a new main-menu and caption font which reflects Rocky's noir style

Audio

  • Racing game SFX has been added for destroying a crate
  • Cooking Papa SFX has been added for whisking the eggs, placing the batter into the oven, and the cake being done
  • A new line has been added to the Cooking Papa section to reflect how well the cake turned out
  • Audio cues have been added to the final 'real-life' section which signify whether a piece of the 'artifact' has been placed correctly or not

Gameplay

  • The game can now be toggled between fullscreen and windowed by pressing the 'F' button
  • A credits screen can now be opened from the main menu by pressing the 'X' button
